Paula Alphonse has been with the School since 2007. Prior to becoming a faculty member, she worked for the School Management Development Programs and for Executive Leadership Programs and Services, where she held the position of Assistant Director. Before joining the School, Paula served as Manager of External Relations with the Tobacco Control Programme at Health Canada, where she gained considerable experience in leadership and management. In addition to managerial duties, her responsibilities involved consulting with internal and external stakeholders from the public and private sectors and at the national and international levels. Paula has been involved in the learning field in various capacities for more than 20 years. Her current area of interest is the use of shared leadership and coaching to foster employee engagement and empowerment. Her aim in the classroom is to assist public service managers in exercising the kind of leadership that empowers each and every employee to give their best contribution.
