Biography

I am from Montevideo, Uruguay. I received a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the Universidad de la República,  in Uruguay in 2004. Later, I received a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Texas A&M University in 2006 and 2009 respectively. My general area of research is number theory. I study hypergeometric functions over finite fields and their relationships to counting points on algebraic curves over finite fields. My thesis advisor was Matt Papanikolas.
