Orestes D. Gooden raised in historic rural Piedmont area of Virginia is a graduate of Buckingham County High School. He received a B.S. degree from Virginia State University (3rd generation legacy) and a Masters of Aeronautical Science (dual speciality) from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Orestes Gooden is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Navy Electronics School and Naval Nuclear Power School and was commissioned an Ensign after completing Officer Candidate School. Following completion of Flight Training he was designated a Naval Aviator and received the coveted "Wings of Gold". He has enjoyed 24 years of honorable military service. Qualified as an Aircraft and Mission Commander he has held numerous leadership positions and assignments with various commands. Orestes Gooden presently serves on the Elizabeth City Pasquotank County Regional Airport Authority and has served as an active member of the Pasquotank County Volunteer Firemen Station
