Onuigbo Liziana is a lecturer in the Department of Education Foundations, University of Nigeria, Nsukka where she teaches Special Needs education with specialization in Visual impairment. She holds the M.Ed and Ph.D degrees in Special Education from the University of Nigeria in 1997 and 2008 respectively. She teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students of the university and has published about 40 articles in both national and international journals She has attended many conferences and workshops and presented more than twenty papers. Onuigbo Liziana has participated in several UNICEF sponsored research activities with impressive results. She is currently involved in collecting baseline data in community directed school feeding and health programme in Abatete, Anambra State and Central School and Community Primary School Eke and Oma Eke respectively both in Enugu State, Nigeria.She has served as resource person to several Millenium Development Goals Capacity building programmes for teachers. She has also served as resource person in several United Nations Children’s Education Fund (UNICEF) projects. She is an approved supervisor of post graduate students and has successfully supervised a good number of Post Graduate Diploma in Education students as well as M.Ed students projects. She is duly registered with the Teachers Registration Council. She holds active membership of established academic bodies and offers important community services. Her research interest include gender studies, inclusion, self regulation and metacognitive strategies and library services for students with visual impairment.
