Nuno has a PhD in Genetics, with research work performed at UCSF under Cynthia Kenyon and a number of high-impact publications. He has started several companies in the US and Europe, including Alfama Inc., the first modern drug discovery company originating from Portugal, and has raised over $20 million in venture capital and competitive grant funding. Nuno has won several international honours and awards, and is the former President of P-BIO, Portugal’s Biotechnology Industry Organisation.
