Mr Jafta qualified with a Masters in Medical Sciences degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and his dissertation was on ''Indoor Air Quality'' (IAQ). His activities at the University include, inter alia, lecturing undergraduate medical students and post graduate students. Training practising environmental health practitioners on IAQ are some training activities partnered with National Department of Health he is involved in. His main research interest is environmental exposure assessment. He is currently studying for a PhD in Childhood TB and Indoor Air Pollution
