Biography

Nikol M. Margaryan is Candidate of History, Associate Professor | Chair of Culturology Education 1986 - 1991: Faculty of History, Department of Ethnography Science degree 2000: Doctor of History The dissertation topic: Choice of Personal Names among the East Armenians in XIX – XX Centuries. (Ethnological Study) Work Experience 2005 - present: Chair of Cultural Studies,Yerevan State University, Associate Professor 2000 - 2005: Chair of Social Sciences, “Imastaser Anania Shirakatsi”, University of Gyumri, Assistant Professor 1993 - present: Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography (National Academy of Sciences of Armenia), Associate Researcher. 1998 - 2000: The Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS), Social Policy expert in Gyimri. 1991 - 1992: “Kumayri” Historical-architectural Reservation, Gyumri, Associate Researcher. 1988 - 1991: Laboratory of Ethnography at YSU, assistant. Was engaged in about 50 Research programs, was the head of some of the programs.

Research Intrest

Theory of Culture, Anthropology of Personal names, Intercultural Communication, Gender Studies, Applied Anthropology, Anthropology of Subculture, Brendinag, Imageology, legal Culture, Political Culture. Is author of 2 monographies and about 40 articles.
