Professor Koorbanally is a specialist in the areas of Natural Products Chemistry and Synthetic Organic Chemistry with an interest in heterocyclic molecules and their potential to be used as antibacterial, anti-TB, antimalarial and anti-HIV drugs. He has been involved in Natural Products Chemistry for the last 15 years and Synthetic Organic Chemistry for the last 5 years. He was the Colenso Scholar at Cambridge University in 2005 and has over 45 publications in international scientific journals.
