Biography

MA Clinical psychology at university of Durban _westville, worked at the Midlands hospital complex (forensic psychology, childrens unit, psychotherapy and general hospital outpatients and families. Then transferred to King Edward VIII Hospital, PHD topic: Stress, coping and health outcomes in undergraduate medical students. NIH/Fogarty funding to undertake Postdoctoral Fellowship at the UCLA- Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior in United States in the area of trauma and mental health research training. Research focus area is “Suicidal behavior among youth”. Awarded Fulbright Visiting Fellowship to the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City university of New York, US in 2012 to study in the area of forensic psychology. Currently working on a “ A review of media reports of parricide in South Africa”
