Narendra began his teaching career in 1990, having taught in private and governments schools around Fiji for 13 years. He joined the School of Management and Public Administration in August 2009 as an Associate lecturer. Prior to joining the USP in 2009, Narendra taught at the National University of Fiji for three years. He also had stints with the Ministry of Education’s Curriculum Development and the National Examination and Assessments units prior to joining the FNU in 2006. Narendra graduated with a Diploma in teaching from the Lautoka Teacher’s College in 1989 and thereafter while working full time attained his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from USP in 1994. He later graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management in 1997 and then attained his Masters in Commerce degree (Management) in 2007 from USP. Currently, Narendra is pursuing his PhD on evaluating the effectiveness of training and development programs at GTC in Fiji. Narendra teaches HRM and Employment Relations courses, in particular MG106 [Introduction to HRM] and MG204 [Management of Industrial Relations]. He has previously taught MG 202 [Operations Management] and MG305 [New Venture Creation] during summer classes in previous years.
