Biography

Najood Ghazi Azar, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Entry-Level Master’s program in the School of Nursing. She brings more than 10 years of clinical experience in the United States and overseas, including medical-surgical and pediatrics. Azar has also been involved in academia since 2001, when she started as a teacher and research assistant in a university in Jordan, then received a scholarship to continue her graduate studies in the U.S. She then became a research assistant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she received an MSN in family and caregiving research. She continued her doctoral studies at Azusa Pacific University, and while working as an adjunct faculty member in fundamentals and medical-surgical courses at APU, she amassed further clinical experience in pediatrics by working at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. Azar joined APU’s nursing faculty in January 2013. Her research projects include studying children’s health outcomes and children with disabilities.
