Dr Sawalhi has received a MEngSc degree and a PhD in 2001 and 2007 respectively, in mechanical engineering from the University of New south Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. Between 1997 and 2003, he worked for Jordan cement factories, Amman, Jordan, as a predictive maintenance engineer and team leader. Between 2007 and 2011, he worked at the school of mechanical and manufacturing engineering at UNSW as a research associate and lecturer. He is currently an assistant professor of engineering at PMU. His research interests include signal processing, vibration analysis, machine condition monitoring, diagnostics and prognostics and dynamic simulations of mechanical systems.
