Molecular characterization of economically important Geminiviruses infecting tomato, tobacco, chillies, okra, cucurbits, beans and other horticultural crops Characterization of DNA satellites (alphsatellite and betasatellite) associated with Geminiviruses Development of molecular diagnostic/detection tools for Geminivirus detection Gene function and virus-host interactions studies of ssDNA viruses Construction of Virus induced gene silencing (VIGS) vectors Use of different genetic engineering tools for development of genetically-engineered resistance against Geminiviruses
