Muhammad Rezaul Rakib, son of Md. Abdul Karim, born on 6 June 1985 at Baliapara village under Sadar Upazila of Mymensingh district in Bangladesh. In his personal life, he is married. He has passed S.Sc. and H.Sc. both from science group respectively in 2001 and 2003. Then he has admitted to Jahangirnagar University at the Department of Geography and Environment and completed B.Sc. (Honours) and M.Sc.(Thesis Group) respectively placed 2nd Position (CGPA 3.77) in 2009 and 1st Position (GPA 3.85) in 2010. He has completed “Basic Computer Course” and “Certificate Course in GIS and RS” at the Department of Geography and Environment of Jahangirnagar University. He had worked as a lecturer in Geography at Birshrestho Noor Muhammad Public College, Peelkhana, Dhaka; President Professor Dr. Iazuddin Ahmed Residential Model College and Bangladesh International Tutorial (BIT) from 2010 to 2014. At present, he is working as a lecturer at the Department of Geography and Environment at Jahangirnagar University. He has done map work on Wari-Bateswer excavation project in 2008-2010 and Social, Risk and Resource Map under NGO’s PIDIM in 2009. Already he has published three articles in the national journal of Bangladesh and three paper presentations in the national and international conference. He got awards and fellowships in the postgraduate, undergraduate program and research projects sponsored by Science Ministry of Bangladesh, DeLPHE, DFID and British Council, Jahangirnagar University, University Grants Commission. He has visited Mymensingh region, Khulna region, Sylhet region, Rangpur region, Chittagong region, Dhaka region and India. He also involved in some extracurricular activities such as life member of BNGA, editor of the SAARC study tour committee, class representative and ex-literature and study circle secretary of JUGA. He has the research interest in the field of physical geography, statistics, Bangladesh studies, food security, ecosystem, disaster management, and GIS and RS.
