Biography

"Dr. Mojtaba Akhtari is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Jane Anne Nohl Division of Hematology and Center for the Study of Blood Diseases, University of Southern California USC Norris Cancer Center/Keck Medical Center of USC. Before joining USC he served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Division of Hematology and Oncology, University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a Hematologist/Oncologist with medical and hematology/oncology training and experience in United Kingdom and United States of America. Dr. Akhtari is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. His experience is fairly wide ranging having worked in academic teaching medical centers and community hospitals with high clinical workloads and a heavy reliance on clinical skills. He is also a member of adult bone marrow transplantation team at USC. He has authored several book chapters and many articles in peer-reviewed journals. He received Humanism in Medicine Award at St. Francis Hospital of Evanston, Illinois. He is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Society of Hematology (ASH), and American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (ASBMT)."
