Minoo Alemi is a faculty member of Languages and Linguistics Department at Sharif University of Technology and holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics (TEFL) from Allameh Tabataba'i University in Tehran, Iran . As for her professional background, she was chosen as exemplary lecturer of Languages and Linguistics Department at SUT in 2010, the exemplary researcher in Ph.D program at Allameh Tabataba'i University in 2010, and at SUT in 2011. She has taught English over a decade at different universities in Iran. Moreover, she was vice-Dean of Education at Languages and Linguistics Department in 2008-2010. Her main areas of interest are (1) Second Language Acquisition, (2) ESP, (3) Discourse Analysis,(4)Interlanguage Pragmatics, and (5) Syllabus Design. Alemi has published about 20 textbooks in General English and ESP nationally and internationally, 32 papers in different areas in international journals, and given 51 presentations on TEFL at many international conferences. Dr. Alemi is a member of scientific board of LiBRI, Linguistic and Literary Broad Research and Innovation journal, JLTR, Journal of Language Teaching and Research, MJAL,Modern Journal of Applied Linguistics, TPLS, Theory and Practice in Language Studies, and BRAIN, Broad Research in Artificial Intelligence and Neuroscience.
