Mike Berlin joined the Department of Community and Environmental Health as a full-time Lecturer in July 2013. He holds a Master of Science in Gerontology and a Master of Social Work, both degrees from the University of Southern California. He received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and is currently licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in both Idaho and California. Most recently, he worked in private practice as a geriatric specialist conducting psycho-social assessments and providing cognitive behavioral therapy services to residents of local skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Previous to that, he spent twenty-five years in health care management. He served as both Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Product Development for MHN, the behavioral health subsidiary of Health Net, Inc. In those roles, he was responsible for strategic planning, product positioning, operational implementation and the financial outcomes of two multi-state business units.
