Dr. Micah Robbins teaches courses in literature and composition. Before joining AUD in Fall 2014, he served as Lecturer in English at Texas State University, where he taught courses in Rhetoric and Composition, British Literature, and World Mythology; he was later awarded the Hughes Postdoctoral Fellowship at Southern Methodist University, where he taught courses in Rhetoric and Composition and American Literature. His primary research interests include the contemporary American novel, satire, and alternative print culture, though he also studies experimental narrative in global and historical contexts. He is currently revising his book manuscript, Total Assault on the Culture: Cold War American Satire and the Fight for Free Speech Rights. In addition to his teaching and scholarship, Dr. Robbins is a practicing poet. His work has appeared in numerous international journals, and his chapbook Crass Songs of Sand & Brine was published by Habenicht Press (Buffalo, NY) in 2010. He enjoys travelling, meeting new people, and spending time with his wife, Gina, and his two young sons, Samuel and Diego.
