Biography

Mengistu Endris Seid joined the University of Gondar in 2005 as technical Assistant in the Department of Biology. Mengistu served the Department of Biology for four years as technical assistant I and II. Following the successful completion of his BSc. degree in Medical Laboratory Technology in the University of Gondar he joined the former Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology in 2008. After one year service as instructor he again joined the University for studying master’s degree study. After two years of his study and work in the department he got MSc. in Infectious and Tropical Diseases in 2012. Starting from June 2012 he is working in Department of Microbiology as a Lecturer. His responsibilities in the department are teaching Medical and health Science students, render community services and conduct researches.

Research Intrest

Infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV, STIs, Leishmaniasis, Bacterial diseases, sepsis, diarrheal diseases, Toxoplasmosis, fungal infections, opportunistic infections, Schistosomiais, STHs and NTDs. Laboratory diagnostic techniques evaluation, antimicrobial drug resistance, podoconosis, nutrition and chronic non-communicable diseases
