Dr. Carter received her BSN from Troy University in 1977. She earned her MSN in Adult Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1983 and her DSN in Community Mental Health with a functional role of Nursing Service Administration in 1998. Dr. Carter is an associate professor at the Capstone College of Nursing and the course leader for Community Health Nursing. She also teaches in Population Health in the DNP program and Fiscal Resource Management in the Case Management program. Dr. Carter is the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs and professor at the Capstone College of Nursing.
She is a research Think Tank member for the national Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO) and is on the Wellness Advisory Board for the University of Alabama and Mannington Wood Floors. Dr. Carter’s research interests are in the areas of worksite wellness in industries and university settings.
