Biography

Dr. Moukayed is a clinical scientist and banks several years of experience gained in the health, science and education sectors. She brings to AUD academic and research experience from different institutions including Cambridge University and Oxford University, U.K. Dr. Moukayed, a qualified stem cell biologist and a molecular biologist, has also worked in translational medicine for the U.K.’s National Health Service. She has enjoyed an active research career that has seen her achieve certification in several biomedical technologies ranging from skills diverse as the isolation and expansion of stem cells in vitro to GMP standards, the use of radioactive isotopes in molecular labeling to the use of laser sensors for cellular identification. Dr. Moukayed has published in the areas of stem cell technologies, metabolic syndrome and fetal development. Dr. Moukayed has also worked as a medical writer and editor with a special interest in the metabolic syndrome (diabetes, obesity, and cardio-vascular disease), stem cell and cellular therapies, growth factor biology, cell signaling, fetal development, cancer cell biology, transcription factor regulation and biological risk assessment and safety. In recent years, her research interests have developed to include public health policy with a special interest in cellular therapies and transplantation as well as the metabolic syndrome. Dr. Moukayed maintains membership of several international societies including Cambridge Philosophical Society, the Biochemical Society and the Cambridge Biology in Business Network.
