Dr. Mehmet Öz, obtained his B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College in 2005 with majors in Mathematics and Physics. He obtained his M.Sc. in Physics and M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, in 2007 and 2008 respectively, and his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Koç University in 2015. During his Ph.D. he was a visiting researcher at the Mathematical Institute of Leiden University for two semesters. His research interests lie in probability theory and stochastic processes. His Ph.D. thesis concerns the survival probability of a branching Brownian motion in a Poissonian field of random traps.
