Dr. Megan Pfitzinger Lippe has been a registered nurse since 2009, and earned her BSN, MSN, and PhD degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. Her nursing practice experience is in adult and cardiovascular critical care nursing. She has taught undergraduate nursing students since 2011, and was the recipient of the Texas Exes Teaching Award from the University of Texas during her first year of teaching.
Dr. Lippe has two funded studies and several unfunded studies in progress. She received funding from the local STTI chapter to expand the methods from her dissertation study to assess curricula at multiple nursing schools for palliative care content integration. She is also testing a new, interprofessional withdrawal of care simulation with grant funds obtained from the internal Research Grants Committee. Her unfunded research includes an integrative review of interprofessional palliative care educational interventions, development and testing of palliative care knowledge measures, and other research with the End of Life Nursing Education Consortium’s Undergraduate Curriculum research team.
