Biography

Mazen Alshaaer is currently working as Associate Professor in Department of Physics, College of Science and Humanitarian Studies, Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University, Alkharj, Saudi Arabia. He is â–ª Coordinator of International Project (Arranged by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) and University of Jordan (Jordan)). The title of the project is “Chemical Stabilisation of Natural Geomaterials for Construction and Industrial Applications’’. This is an Inter-University co-operation Program funded by the Flemish Inter-University Council (VLIR) -Belgium. The budget is 280000 Euro. Promoter: Prof. Jan Wastiels , Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Brussels, Belgium.

Research Intrest

Synthesis of nanopowder, Calcium phosphate bioceramics, cement, and scaffolds for bone tissue engineering, Functional geopolymeric materials for water purification, storage and transportation, Low cost construction materials, Low temperature hardening inorganic cement for construction and high-temperature applications.
