Biography

Doctor Maximus Monaheng Sefotho is a lecturer in the Department of Educational Psychology and focuses on career guidance and counselling. He is highly involved in community outreach initiatives and regularly facilitates workshops for schools and community-based organisations. Doctor Sefotho speaks, writes and has some publications in Spanish. His research interests centre on Career choice/construction within the sphere of contemporary careers and hephapreneurship, in support of social change. To this end, he prefers the phrase ‘differently abled’ to ‘disability’ because he encourages ‘seeing abilities in disability’. Over recent years he has presented his views at various national and international forums, and has paid scholarly visits to Instituto Michoacano de Ciencias de la Educación (IMCED): México, Centre Européen pour le Développement de la Formation Professionnelle (European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training) and La Universidade da Coruña (Spain). He has established firm ties with the University of La Universidade da Coruña, University of Botswana, University of Lesotho and St John Vianney Major Seminary.

Research Intrest

His research interests centre on Career choice/construction within the sphere of contemporary careers and hephapreneurship, in support of social change.
