Researcher since 1996 at the Institute of Marine Sciences of the National Research Council of Venice and indefinitely since 2006. Mauro Bastianini has been involved in more than fifteen years of biological oceanography research in pelagic, coastal and lagoon environments. Currently its research is aimed at: (a) studying phytoplankton populations, including in relation to climate change, (b) interaction between environmental parameters and production of resistance stages (c) for the realization of autonomous measurement and collection systems Of offshore environmental data. For some years he has been coordinator of research carried out in the oceanographic platform "Aqua Alta" off Venice. He has created the web site dedicated to online publishing of real-time data:
