Received her undergraduate degree from Yale College, her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, and her master of public health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the New York Hospital, chief residency at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and general internal medicine fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. As dean for Faculty Affairs, Dr. Connelly’s responsibilities include managing junior and senior faculty promotions and appointments at Harvard Medical School, representing the Dean’s office on search committees for senior faculty appointments, providing advice regarding CV preparation and career goals to faculty, and participating in the development of policies related to academic advancement. Dr. Connelly’s research interests have included postmenopausal hormone replacement therapy and screening and treatment for osteoporosis. Her research has also addressed the role of women in academic medicine.

Her research has also addressed the role of women in academic medicine. Dr. Connelly previously practiced primary care internal medicine at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates. In 1999, in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she founded the Harvard Vanguard Menopause Consultation Service. Dr. Connelly lives in the greater Boston area with her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Krane, and their four children.
