Mati Roasto is Head of Department and Professor of food hygiene, food processing hygiene management. He is also 2011−... A member of the doctoral admission commission of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences A member of the Association of the Estonian microbiologists in 2008, A member of the International Society of Animal Hygiene in 2007, A member of the Academic Agricultural Society of Estonia in 2004 A member of the Estonian Veterinary Association in 2002 Member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences of Estonian University of Life Sciences from 2005-2013.
