Biography

Dr. Marlen I. Vasquez has a B.Sc. in Biology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a M.Sc. in Environment and Development from the National Technical University of Athens and a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cyprus. She has worked at a consulting company in the Dominican Republic (2002-2003), at an NGO in Cyprus (2003), at the Medical and Public Health Services of the Ministry of Health (2004-2009) and at the University of Cyprus (2006-2012). From September 2012 she is working at the Department of Science and Technology of the Cyprus University of Technology as a Special Teaching Staff.

Research Intrest

Environmental chemistry and toxicology with emphasis on xenobiotics and their impacts on biological systems, Environmental microbiology and biotechnology with focus on isolation of microorganisms and proteins.
