Mariângela Carneiro is a Full Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Epidemiology Department, Department of Parasitology. Graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. The Master and PhD programs were carried out at the Department of Parasitology, in the area of ​​Epidemiology of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He has a postdoctoral degree from Johns Hopkins University, School of Hygiene and Public Health in the Department of Epidemiology. She is a full professor of PhD in the Postgraduate Programs in Parasitology of the Institute of Biological Sciences of UFMG and Post-Graduation in Health Sciences: Infectology and Tropical Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of UFMG. He is the leader of the Research Group on the Epidemiology of Infectious-Parasitic Diseases of Importance in Collective Health. She is a level 2 researcher at CNPq and the Minas Gerais Researcher Program (PPM) at FAPEMIG. Has experience in the area of ​​Collective Health, with emphasis on Epidemiology. It works mainly on the following topics: studies of determinants of infectious and parasitic diseases (visceral leishmaniasis, HIV / AIDS, dengue, toxoplasmosis, schistosomiasis), evaluation of health interventions and programs, nutrition epidemiology and association with infectious and parasitic diseases, and urbanization infectious and parasitic diseases.
