Biography

Associate Professor, Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master's Degree in Plant Ecophysiology from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ, 1992, 1994, 1995) and PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Paris VII - Denis Diderot (1999). São Paulo (USP, 2002). He holds a postdoctoral degree in Plant Biotechnology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2002) as a Fellow of CNPq. He was Substitute and Visiting Professor of Plant Physiology and Plant Nutrition at UFRRJ (2000-2002). At UFMG he was Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Plant Biology (PPGBV) from 2004 to 2008. Subsequently, was appointed by the Public Prosecutor's Office as Environmental Expert for Estimates of Carbon Assimilation and Partitioning and Global Climate Change and Recovery of Impacted Areas (2008). He is a consultant and reviewer of national and international journals. He directs dissertations and theses in the PPGBV where he currently serves as Vice-Coordinator and is Deputy Director of the UFMG Ecological Station. He has been working permanently as a professor and researcher in the field of Plant Physiology and Ecophysiology and Environmental Conservation. The emphasis in the research is related to the areas of Plant Nutrition and Growth, Photosynthesis and Water Relations, Environmental Stresses, Global Climate Change and the Threats of Extinction and Biological Invasion of Plants.
