Degree programmes: Microbial Physiology and Biochemistry Food Microbiology Industrial Microbiology Medical Microbiology Environmental Microbiology M.S.c in Applied Microbiology Degree programme: Microbial Physiology and Biochemistry Research Experience: Gained experience in laboratory work related to Microbiology in the one year research project carried out for the BSc (Special) Degree. The work lead to the MPhil Degree from Edinburgh helped to learn many techniques to study microbial polymers (polysaccharides and proteins) and also techniques such as HPLC and NMR. Worked with the Pollution Research Unit of the Napier University Edinburgh, UK, from 2003-2007, as a research student and acquired experience in most of the advanced molecular biology techniques for manipulation and modifications of bacterial genes, especially those for the development of bacterial probes for the pollution monitoring (DNA damaging pollutants).
