Biography

He holds a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1981), a Master's degree in Cutaneous Biology and Dermofarmacology from the University of Paris XI (Paris-Sud) (1991) and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences - Université de Paris XI ) (1994). He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He has experience in the field of Pharmacy, with emphasis on Topical and Transdermal Delivery Systems, and development and characterization of nanostructured systems, notably solid lipid nanoparticles. It mainly deals with the following topics: treatment of leishmaniasis and in particular the topical treatment of cutaneous leishmaniasis, acne, skin permeation / penetration and currently has been dedicated to the treatment of cancer with antitumor drugs encapsulated in lipid nanocarriers. He has published several articles in specialized periodicals and annals of events. It has 1 product for treatment of neglected disease in the phase of Technological Transfer for a Public Laboratory. Coordinated several extension activities and / or specialized technical services with private initiative. He is currently a member of the Nanobiotechnology Mining Network (Nanobiomg).
