Biography

"Since July 2000, Dr. Csaba has been a full professor of International Political Economy at the IRES Dept. From 1976 to 1987, Dr. Csaba was associated with Institute for World Economy of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and from 1988 to 2000, he had a position at Kopint-Datorg Economic Research. He has taught at the International Economics Department at the College of Foreign Trade , Budapest , the Comparative Economics Department at Corvinus University , Budapest , and currently teaches part-time at the University of Debrecen. Dr. Csaba was a founding member of the CEU Ph.D. Economics Department and is currently the Director of the IRES Ph.D. Program. Since 1986, he has served as a member of the Committee on Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Dr. Csaba has been the author and editor of six volumes and over 19 academic articles and book chapters, including the monographs of Eastern Europe in the World Economy, Cambridge University Press, The Capitalist Revolution in Eastern Europe at Edward Elgar Press, and The New Political Economy of Emerging Europe at the Akadémiai/Kluwer Press. He also serves on the editorial boards of numerous journals, including Europe-Asia Studies in Glasgow , Intereconomics in Hamburg , Voprosy Ekonomiki in Moscow , and Comparative Economic Studies in Kyoto . He is a regular contributor to the Hungarian weekly, Figyel, jointly published with Business Week."
