"Professor Richard Loh is currently Professor of Medicine and Head, Department of Medicine in Penang Medical College, Malaysia, and Adjunct Professor, Postgraduate Studies and Research, International Medical University, Malaysia. He earned his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland before pursuing his higher specialist training in Respiratory Medicine in London. During this time, he also completed his Doctor of Medicine degree from University of London on research into asthma immunology and novel immunomodulatory approaches. Professor Loh is a widely published investigator who lectures regularly in both national and international meetings, as well as an actively practicing chest physician. He was the founding Editor of International e-Journal of Science, Medicine and Education of International Medical University, and is an editorial board member of several scientific journals including Respirology. He has held various positions in national professional bodies including The Malaysian Thoracic Society and College of Physician, Academy of Medicine Malaysia, and is the past assembly Head for the “Non-Tuberculosis” Infectious Disease group of the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physician of Edinburgh, the American College of Chest Physician, and Academy of Medicine Malaysia."
