Linda is a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Sport Development and is Co-ordinator for the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGHEP) for new staff. She teaches within the BA (Hons) Sport Development and Coaching degree in the area of community sports development and on the work-based project element of the MSc in Sport Coaching. Linda gained her PhD exploring women's careers in outdoor education in 2003 and has been co-editor of the Journal of Adventure Education and Outdoor Learning, with Professor Barbara Humberstone for several years. For 2013 she is co-editing a Special Themed Edition on Outdoor Play in Early Childhood. In addition to her specialist subject research in community sport and outdoor education, Linda is a University Teaching Fellow and has an MA in Academic Practice. She has undertaken a number of evaluation projects in both teaching and learning, and in relation to the effectiveness of community sport and physical activity initiatives.
