Levon B. Chookaszian is Head of Chair, Doctor of Arts, Professor | Chair of History and Theory of Armenian Art Education 1969 - 74 Yerevan State University, Yerevan; Armenian Language and Literature. 1974 - 77 Post-graduate, Yerevan State University, Yerevan; Armenian Art. Moscow State University, Moscow; Byzantine Art and European Art of the Middle Ages. State Hermitage Museum. Leningrad; Byzantine Art. Dissertation: "The Art of the 13th century Armenian Painter Grigor Calkol”. Dissertation: "The Art of Toros Roslin in the context of the cultural relations of Cilician Armenia of the13th century”. Academic degree 1982 - Candidate of Art degree granted by the Institute of the Art of the Academy of Sciences of Georgia, Tbilisi. Dissertation advisor: Victor N. Lazareff, Tatjana A. Izmailova. Dissertation: "The Art of the 13th century Armenian Painter Grigor Calkol". 2001 - Doctore of Art degree granted by the Institute of the Art of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, Moscow. Dissertation: "The Art of Toros Roslin in the context of the cultural relations of Cilician Armenia of the13th century”.
