Biography

LesLee K. Funderburk is currently working as a Assistant Professor of Family and Consumer Sciences and Nutrition Sciences at Baylor University. She has completed her Ph.D. University of Washington and MS, Central Michigan University and BS, Eastern Washington University. As a registered dietitian, I have worked in a variety of specialty areas including health promotion, food service management, clinical dietetics and management. Upon earning my PhD from the University of Washington, I was assigned to a research position at Fort Bragg NC, where I led a team that conducted weight management and dining facility modification studies. From that time forward, I have been involved in research focused on improving quality nutrition intake and promotion of healthy body weight and composition. My career path has afforded me the opportunity to be involved in the administrative aspect of research from being an IRB board member, IRB chair and Human Protections Administrator. Prior to joining the Baylor University team as an Assistant Professor, I was the director for the US Army-Baylor Graduate Program in Nutrition at Fort Sam Houston, TX. Being a faculty member at Baylor University provides the unique opportunity to incorporate faith into teaching and research.
