Biography

Laud K. N-A. Okine is currently working as an Associate Professor in Department of Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, University of Ghana.

Research Intrest

Research and Development of herbal medicines as alternatives to allopathic medicines. Research and Development of drug candidates from selected medicinal plants for the treatment/management of diabetes mellitus (DM), hypertension, malaria and trypanosomiasis. Safety evaluation of drugs and herbal medicines. Evaluation of the efficacy and mode of action of drugs and herbal medicines. Development of in vitro methods for the rapid screening of efficacies and safety of herbal medicines. Mechanisms of drug toxicity and resistance (use of animals/cell cultures).
