r. Grubler holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wheeling Jesuit College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from West Virginia University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Shenandoah University. She has over 20 years of clinical experience primarily in the out-patient orthopedic and industrial rehabilitation settings, but has practiced in the acute care, skilled care and home health settings as well. Dr. Grubler joined the faculty at Wheeling Jesuit University in 2008 as an Adjunct faculty member for the Clinical Science II course. As of January 2009, she holds the full time position of Director of Clinical Education (DCE). She is responsible for the Clinical Education component of the program. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Physical Therapy and teaches the Physical Therapy Science course in Term II and Term V, the Clinical Education Stream courses, Integrated Seminar, Research Training Seminar and Service Learning I and II. Dr. Grubler holds a license in the state of West Virginia and has been an employee of Wheeling Hospital since 1998 where she continues her clinical practice on a casual basis. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and a member of the Education, Federal Physical Therapy, Orthopedic and Health Policy and Administration sections; a member of the West Virginia Chapter of the APTA and serves as the Co-Chair of the Education committee; Chair of the 3 Rivers Academic Consortium; WJU Faculty representative to APTA's Student Assembly; an APTA Beginner and Advanced Credentialed Clinical Instructor; an APTA credentialed CCIP trainer for the Beginner Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program; served on the Nominating Committee and as the Nominating Chair on the Board of Directors for the Education Section of the American Physical Therapy Association; and is the Nominating Chair for the National Consortium of Clinical Educators (NCCE) which is a consortium of the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy (ACAPT)

Dr. Grubler's principle topics of scholarly activity include professional behaviors, clinical education, international clinical education, service learning, community outreach, predictors for academic success and orthopedic topics. She is currently working on: The Impact of Problem Based Learning Pillars on Doctor of Physical Therapy Students from both a student and clinical instructor perspective, The Effects of Service Learning on Doctor of Physical Therapy Students, Predictor Variables of Student Success, Themes that Influence Student Goals in International Service Learning, and Designing and Implementing a Fitness Wellness Initiative for Fire Fighters.
