BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Brockmeyer-Stubbs holds a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from the University of New Hampshire. In 1993, she attained an advanced master's degree in occupational therapy with a pediatric specialty from Towson University. Her therapy experience includes teaching, assessment programming and research. For many years, Brockmeyer-Stubbs focused her attention and skills in the school setting, providing therapy and assessment to children ages 3-21 with developmental disabilities. This service included spending five years as an occupational therapist in the Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland. In 1989, Brockmeyer-Stubbs joined the Kennedy Krieger team first as a therapist on the brain injury unit and then as acting assistant director. In 1992, she was appointed acting director of the occupational therapy department at Kennedy Krieger, and in 1993, she took over as director. Since that time, Brockmeyer-Stubbs has tirelessly worked at managing the department of over 20 therapists and the services offered by Kennedy Krieger in the home, educational and community environments. In addition, she has provided community outreach and education related to occupational therapy services. She is a member of the adjunct faculty at Towson University in the Department of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science. Brockmeyer-Stubbs is a member is the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the Maryland Occupational Therapy Association (MOTA).
