Biography

Prof Krishnan completed his training from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India and subsequently joined the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur in 1982. After retirement as Professor of Primary Care Medicine in 2008, he joined the World Health Organization at its Regional Office for the Western Pacific Region as Technical Officer for Injury and Violence Prevention. He joined Penang Medical College in 2013. Prof Krishnan strongly believes that every doctor (in whichever specialty they are practising in) should promote health and prevent disease in his / her patients and in the community. He has served as Consultant in Injury Prevention to many governments in the region. In 1991, he obtained the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom and Academy of Medicine of Malaysia Medal for outstanding contribution to Medicine in Malaysia. He also obtained the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia.
