Biography

Karl-L. Schuchmann is an ornithologist, biogeographer, and tropical ecologist with a research focus on Neotropical birds (esp. trochilids). His recent research interests are in the field of applied sciences related to rapid biodiversity assessment studies, e.g., automated acoustic monitoring. At present, He engaged in a long-term study on automated acoustic species detection in the Pantanal wetlands of Brazil
