Karin’s research focus is on the occurrence, sources and treatment of organic pollutants in urban runoff and landfill leachate. The research aims at developing a framework for strategic and transparent selection of sustainable stormwater management options in urban environments. However, there is currently a general lack of knowledge concerning many management options, including information on pollutant removal efficiency, expected lifetime, maintenance needs and management of contaminated waste. Karin's research aims to meet these information needs. The research includes measurements both in laboratory and field studies as well as literature research.
