Biography

After graduating from her basic nursing program in 1971, Karen Frenn worked at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit for 15 years in various nursing positions, including staff nurse and head nurse on a neurosurgical unit, coronary care unit nursing, cardiac rehabilitation nurse, and ending with five years as an instructor in the Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing. In 1987, she moved to New Hampshire and did per diem staff nursing at St. Joseph Hospital on the oncology unit and also taught in their LPN program. Since 1989, she has worked part-time and full-time as a faculty member at Rivier. She teaches theory, lab, and clinical for Nursing Fundamentals; clinical instruction for Nursing Care of the Adult I and Mental Health Nursing, and Nursing Leadership and Management in Healthcare. She recently earned certification as a nurse educator from the National League for Nursing.
