Biography

Prof. Kalle-Antti Suominen is Professor in Physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Turku.Currently prof. Suominen is the Vice-Rector (Research) of the University of Turku. The Quantum Optics and Quantum Dynamics (QOQD) group is directed by prof. Kalle-Antti Suominen, and it is one of the five groups that form the Turku Centre for Quantum Physics (TCQP).

Research Intrest

Simple time-dependent quantum systems (two or three energy states); Laser-induced molecular processes (femtochemistry); Dynamics of scalar and spinor Bose-Einstein condensates, vortices and topological defects; Photo- and magnetoassociation of ultracold atoms into molecules; Cold atomic collisions and alkaline earth atomic clocks; Electron spin waves and magnons in atomic hydrogen; Dynamics of open quantum systems, and their simulation with quantum jumps (Monte Carlo), especially with non-Markovian systems.
