Jun ZHENG received his Bachelor's degree from School of Life Science, Northeast Normal University in 1999 and Master's from Institute of Genetics and Cytology, Northeast Normal University in 2002. He earned his Ph.D. from Department of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore in 2007.
The major focus of the research is to understand the molecular mechanism bacterial pathogens use to attack and exploit hosts and how the antibiotics control bacterial infection. The goal is to identify new targets and lead compounds for the development of more effective chemotherapies. The lab employs a diverse toolkit including biochemical, chemical genetic and various cutting-edge functional genomic methods such as Tn-seq.
