Biography

Julia Béjar Alvarado has a degree and doctor (2000) in Biological Sciences from the University of Málaga (UMA). After a postdoctoral stay at the University of Würzburg, Germany, she rejoined the UMA through an aid for the reinstatement of doctors from the Junta de Andalucía (2003-2008). After this period she has been Professor Contractor Doctor (2009) and is currently Professor of the Genetics Area of ​​the UMA since 2012.

Research Intrest

The natural immune response of cultured fish such as dorado, sea bass and sole, to viral infections. In particular the genes stimulated by type I IFN like the Mx antiviral protein.
