Biography

Dr. Darrow is a Clinical Associate Professor at the New England College of Optometry (NECO) and is an Attending Optometrist at NECO Center for Eye Care Roslindale and South Boston Community Health Center (SBCHC). She is a graduate of Tulane University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Dr. Darrow received her Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 1990. She was previously a primary care optometrist in the Ophthalmology Department of Dedham Medical Associates, which became Dedham Ophthalmic Consultants and Surgeons. During that time she worked with adults and children providing comprehensive eye care, including contact lens fittings, glaucoma co-management, cataract co-management, and amblyopia treatment. While working at Dedham Ophthalmic Consultants and Surgeons, she had the opportunity to work with interns from NECO, and discovered she enjoyed teaching optometry. In 2011, Dr. Darrow became a temporary preceptor at SBCHC and found that being part of a community health center and working with students combined two of my interests. She has since left the private practice and split her time between SBCHC and NECO Center for Eye Care Roslindale, working with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students.
