J. Paul Robinson is the SVM Professor of Cytomics in the College of Veterinary Medicine and a professor of biomedical engineering in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University. He received his Ph.D. in Immunopathology from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical School. He is currently the director of the Purdue University Cytometry Laboratories at Purdue University. He is a past President of the International Society for Advancement of Cytometry, is the Editor- in-Chief of Current Protocols in Cytometry, Associate Editor of Histochemica et Cytobiologica, and Associate Editor of Cytometry Part A. He is an active researcher with over 155 peer reviewed publications, 29 book chapters, has edited 9 books and has given over 120 international lectures and taught advanced courses in over a dozen countries and made over 350 conference presentations. Robinson was an early adopter of web-based educational materials by publishing one of the first known published web-basedCDROM in April 1996 and since published 14 CD-ROMs or DVDs with a total distribution of around 100,000 copies all distributed free of charge. He was elected to the College of Fellows, American Institute for Medical & Biological Engineering (AIMBE) in 2004, received the Pfizer Award for Innovative Research in 2004 and the Gamma Sigma Delta Award of Merit Research in 2002. He has participated in numerous NIH, NSF and private foundation review boards. He has given a large number of talks and presentations to student groups and community service organizations. He is also the immediate past chair of the Purdue University Senate
